【摘要】:Theresultsofthistestmethodwillindicatetherelativepermeabilitybywaterofthetapethroughitssmallestdimension(generallynormaltothetapersquo;backing).5.1.1Thepathwayforthewaterparalleltotheadhesive-cupinterfaceisgreatcomparedtothetapersquo;thicknessandthelatterisusuallythenearlyexclusivesourceoftransmittedwater.5.1.2Sometapetypesallowarelativelyfreepathinadirectionnormaltothebackingoralongbackingpathwaysparalleltotheadhesive-cupinterface,allowingtheadhesivetobecometheprincipalbarrier.Iftheadhesivedoesnotcontinuetoadheretothecupflangeduringtheexposureperiods,allowingunintendedpathwaysforwatertooccur,themeasurementshouldbeconsideredasnothavingbeenmade.Consequently,thetapemightbeconsideredasbeinginappropriateforuseonsurfaceslikethecupflangeundermoistureconditionsapproximatingthoseofthetest.Note18212;Itmaybethattheinterestissimplyinthetapematerialasawaterbarrier.Inthiscasehowwellthetapeadherestothecupflangemaybeoflittleconsequenceandstepstopreventanyedgeeffectsareinorder.ThesearereferredtoinSection10.1.1Thistestmethodprovidesoneprocedureformeasuringthewaterpenetrationrateof2-in.orwiderpressure-sensitivetape.1.2ThevaluesstatedineitherSIorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeequivalent;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependently,withoutcombiningvaluesinanyway.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
