【摘要】:ThepurposeofthistestistoobtainsteadystatevaluesofwatervaportransferthroughtheEIFSsample.ThischaracteristicofEIFSiscommonlyrequestedbyregulatoryanddesignorganizations,andisusedinthermalandmoisturestudiesofbuildingwalls.ThedegreetowhichanEIFSallowswatervaportopassthroughitcanaffecttheperformanceofanEIFSwallassembly.Apermeancevalueobtainedunderonesetoftestconditionsdoesnotindicatethevalueunderadifferentsetofconditions.Forthisreason,thetestconditionsselectedarethosethatmostcloselyapproachtheconditionsofuseforEIFScomponentsandassemblies.ThisstandardshouldnotbeusedaloneasthesolemeansforevaluatingthewatervaportransmissioncharacteristicsofagivenEIFSwallassembly.Othermethodsareavailable,andshouldbeconsideredandusedasappropriate.TobemeaningfulinevaluatingthethermalandmoistureconditionofagivenEIFSwallassembly,thespecimensusedinthisstandardshouldrepresentcloselythematerialsthatactuallyexist,orwillexist,onagivenbuilding.1.1ThisstandarddescribeshowtouseTestMethodsE96todeterminethewatervaportransmission(WVT)characteristicsofanEIFSsample.1.2AnExteriorInsulationandFinishSystem(EIFS)isamultilayerexteriorbuildingwallmaterialthatconsistsofanumberoflayers.Forthepurposeofthisstandard,theselayers,whethertheybeindividualEIFScomponentmaterialsinsinglelayers,orgroupsofEIFScomponentmaterials,arecalledthe"EIFSsample."1.3TheWaterMethod,ProceduresBandDdescribedinsectionX1.1.2andX1.1.5ofAppendixX1ofTestMethodsE96shallbeusedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandardislimitedtospecimensnotover11/4in.(32mm)inthickness,exceptasprovidedinSection9ofthisstandard.1.5Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Metricinch-poundconversionfactorsforwatervaportransmission,permeance,andpermeabilityarestatedinTable1ofTestMethodsE96.AllconversionsofmmHgtoPaaremadeatatemperatureof0176;C.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
